Biography

Abby L. Olsen is a Clinical Research Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She completed her MD PhD at the University of Pennsylvania followed by internship at Pennsylvania Hospital and residency and fellowship at Partners Neurology and Harvard Medical School, where she served as a Chief Resident. The overarching purpose of her work in Dr. Mel Feany’s laboratory is to define the genetic contribution of glia to Parkinson’s Disease in an effort to identify novel glial therapeutic targets for the disease. She is the recipient of a Parkinson’s Disease Early Investigator Award from the Department of Defense as well as a K08 Career Development Award from the NIH. Her research as been presented at the American Academy of Neurology and the American Neurological Association, and she has published work in leading neurology journals including Neurology, JAMA Neurology, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
